A Boy and his Grandpa

This picture is of my dad and my son. They are fishing off the porch. :0) My dad always seems to get into character when the kids are around. He tells them ” I’m 5 years old.” I think they believe him…lol

My dad’s use of his imagination, his ability to have the eyes of a child, and to slow down as if nothing else matters except what he and his grandkids are doing… It makes me smile.

The other day while I was out with my bff, we stopped into one of our favorite little shops and I saw this poem on a picture. I think it is perfect for this picture I took of my dad and son the next day.

I like to walk with Grandpa…

His steps are short like mine.

He doesnt say…

“Now, Hurry Up!”

He always takes his time

Most people have to hurry…

they do not stop and see.

I am glad that God made Grandpa…

‘Unrushed’ and young like me.

Today be thankful for your Grandparents, give them a call and have your kids call theirs !!

Have a great MONDAY!!!! :0)

Oh how sweet. As a grandma of many, I can definitely relate. Haven’t tried fishing off the porch but you should see us play ball tag!!! 🙂 What a joy for your son AND your dad to have this sweet relationship!

This is really wonderful. I’m glad my son knew his grandpa at least a while before he passed away; he loved him dearly.

That is a great photo and the moment priceless!! There is something very special about the relationship between children and their grandparents. Grandparents provide all the love, patience and affection!! Where as parents have to be the disciplinarians lol.
