Pastor talked about a little passage in Acts 10

Acts 10: 1-8
There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.  About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.  Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do.”  And when the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who waited on him continually.  So when he had explained all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

This little passage is big stuff!!

1. GOD KNOWS RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE

source

We do not have to fear or feel that we are alone in this thing called life.

God has GPS!! lol ( I loved that part that Pastor said. )

I love how this makes me think about how when I don’t know what to say to God…when I feel lost within my own self…that He knows. How even if I don’t know how I got to a particular heart attitude….or why I feel like I don’t care…that if I call out to Him, He will hear me. He will help me find my way.

2. GOD KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE DOING

source

No matter what we are doing …He is with watching. Kind of scary for those days when my heart is angry and wants to fight life. He even promises that if we go to the depths of hell He will be there with us. ( I don’t want to do that!!)

But also wonderful…because HE is the only one who can help me. He makes all things good!

3. GOD KNOWS YOUR HEART

source

The best teacher in the world knows just what we need to learn and grow. He know how stubborn our hearts are and what lessons we will need.  Our hearts have to be overcome by the Love of Christ. So we will choose humbleness for His greatness to pour through us.

I am so glad He knows mine!

You ever notice how when you THINK you know…sometimes you find you know nothing. Then you find that you end up in a heart position of saying “ Lord not my ways, but Your ways. Your thoughts, not mine.”

Let God challenge your thinking …. later in this chapter in Acts God challenges Peter’s thinking on what is clean and what is unclean. God sends a messenger to get Peter to go to this centurion mans house. This is not something a JEW would do…but it is something JESUS would do. So Peter went and there were many saved and baptized.

HIS WAY REALLY IS ALWAYS THE BEST WAY!

source

When we let God lead….He blesses US and

He blesses OTHERS through us!

and that’s  really the point, right?

To be used by Him….

I love Cornelius’ story – he was a man who believed with both feet – sending servants to call Peter & when he comes he immediately gathers everyone he knows. No halfway faith for Cornelius! Thanks for the visit – it is nice to meet you!
