A true friend is someone who thinks that you’re a good egg even though they know that you are slightly cracked–Bernard Meltzer
Jesus is the TRUE FRIEND and He knew that light shines brightest through cracks into the darkness….
Thank GOD for the cracks!
Pain…
broken hearts….
disapproval…
rejection….
broken lives….
all these thing create the cracks of our souls
Matthew 5:15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
To often we hide our light…
this world tells us if we are not PERFECT
that we are not enough…
And we think that our cracks and scars make us ugly …
so we hide them from ourselves and from others,
and we paint our faces ….( I do it too)
and wear masks…

hoping that no one sees the cracks in our soul.
Hiding our hurts..and fears..and cries of desperation.
Thank God for the cracks!
I want to show you something!!

JESUS suffered greatly and was more bruised and scarred than we ever will be and His most Glorious Moment was on the CROSS. He was held up high on the cross and was the greatest light, lighting the whole world.
He lives in us….(we are kind of like the bowl in that verse above when we hid the light )
“And he who does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me…”
~Mt. 10:38
Take up a cross… Be willing to suffer… this — these are the marks of a follower of Christ. Perhaps our greatest daily temptation is to be impatient — to refuse to suffer. – Ann Voskamp
Ouch…impatient …with what …
I am thinking with BEING PERFECT!!
I want to be THERE already…but the question is am I willing to be CRACKED???
Hebrews 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
He was made perfect THROUGH suffering!!
Can I expect that I am any different than my Lord?
Should I have special treatment?
Will I refuse to paint and cover …
Will I choose to be thankful?
and let light shine through my cracks?
Something to think about?

Starla,
What a wonderful post! In the “cracks” we see Him in full glory! It’s through the brokenness we see Him for who He is and experience His power.
Thank you for sharing.
Have a wonderful weekend…

Thank you for stoppin by. I appreciate this comment . This is a subject close to my heart. I struggle with being glad I am cracked. I am a hidder. I want to see my cracks as interesting parts of me . One day I will! God is too good not to grant be the desire to love the parts that let His light shine through. God release me from the worry.
