Hi church family! Pastor Starla here. 🌸
Over the past few months, our deep dive into 1 & 2 Peter during our “Feed My Sheep” series has been an incredible anchor for our faith.
In our recent message, “Doing Due Diligence,” we framed our faith as a heavenly road trip. To prepare us for what’s next, we even took time at the end of service to break into groups and discuss our “questions for the road.”
Now, I love things that make logical order, but how these next steps seamlessly line up together isn’t my doing or because I’m so orderly. God gave Pastor Chad the roadmap for the series messages at the end of last year, and it’s because God knows exactly how to write a shared story for His people. I am floored how He is using our road trip conversations this past week as the ultimate launching pad into a beautiful, refreshing summer season ahead! I didn’t even realize we were going on a summer road trip. lol
Here is where our roadmap is taking us next:
🗓️ July 1: The 62-Day Reading Plan Begins
Before our next Sunday series kicks off, we will start moving together. Starting Wednesday, July 1, we begin reading through the Psalms. They are going in random order, but you will land on the Summer Series psalm on the day it is given. Grab your highlighters, your Bible, and your quiet spot!
I will most likely be writing my thoughts through the Psalms over on my Substack, if you want to join me.
🍽️ July 5: Church Around the Table
Building on our road trip conversations, we are gathering for “Come, Unity” Church Around the Table to dive into Jesus’s final prayer for us in John 17 and discuss how we can open our hearts, lives, and time to one another in deep community. <–You can read more about why we can’t walk this road alone in my latest Substack post, “Tandem Coasting to Community”
☀️ July 12: “Summer in the Psalms” Series Kickoff
- A Road Trip Thru Scripture
- Summer in the Psalms offers a snapshot of the book of Psalms from a fresh perspective. Through examining the different themes of psalms, we’ll unpack the relevance of the scripture to the authors, as well as what they mean to us today.
By focusing on honest, unfiltered communication with God through every raw human experience, this series will challenge you to use Scripture as fuel to drive your personal and collective prayer life. We can step before God with our victories, our anger, and our battles, knowing He hears us and calls us to stand close to Him.
See you this Sunday as we wrap up our Feed My Sheep series with our final message, “Wait and Hasten.” Come ready to finish strong and pack your bags for the next leg of our spiritual journey!
