Psalm 141:3-4
Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil
so that I take part in wicked deeds
along with those who are evildoers;
do not let me eat their delicacies.
It is far to easy to let words unkind and unholy slip through lips unwatched. God gave us both teeth and lips to keep that tongue behind in check.
Our of the heart the mouth speaks therefore that is where we much begin. It is not enough to simply by sheer will keep back a mouth untamed. We must have a heart arrested by the love of God to have a tongue redeemed and blessing.
If our heart is un-captured by His great love and our mouth is not restored to an instrument of praise and grace-giving then we will sit at tables with foes unknown and think they be fellows. There we become prey to the enticements and delicacies they offer to walk a way most sinful.
Today we will pray over sons and daughters.

Father, thank you that you are the guard who watches over our kids. Lord, we pray today for them to have mouths that praise and bless. Let them be self-control by a heart in love with you. We ask that they have an encounter with that love over and over to see the goodness of God and the blessing it is to have two gates to keep them from speaking evil or cursing others. Our of their mouth flows what is in their hearts. I pray for them to come to you often to cleanse their hearts, not our fear, but out of love for you and a desire to be holy as you are holy. Lord we ask your protection over them as they walk and talk in their schools this year. We pray Lord that they would not be enticed away from you through the relationships that they gather. Let them sit a tables with kind-hearted and gentle souls. Let them be the kind-hearted and gentle souls to others. We stand in the midst of the congregation together and declare that their will be a restoration of right learning in schools. We declare this day be a turning point for many students to enjoy learning and find growth and understanding a prize to be sought after. We declare that the enemy will be silent and have no foothold in our kids schools in Jesus name!
Thank you for praying and listening,
Starla
