We are NOT STUCK …..IF we KNOW we have a CHOICE!

I have been reading two books by Dr. Caroline Leaf – The Gift in YOU and Who Switched Off My Brain? It it interesting how she breaks down the way our thoughts and emotions affect us positive or negatively. In the first book she teaches you how you think in a very unique way. God created you to think a certain way. NO ONE IS LIKE YOU! She says that the way you think is your GIFT and she tells about the different Gift -blockers – toxic thoughts, attitudes, words, actions, ect. In the second she breaks down these toxic Gift – blockers in depth. GOOD STUFF!!

Knowledge changes things…

If you are human or anything like me you struggle in certain areas with IRRITATION and UNCOMFORTABLENESS in certain circumstances, situations and with certain people.

WE ALL DO!!

God asks us to LEARN TO LOVE each other!!

THAT is HARD to do when someone IRRITATES the crap out of you!!

To count it all JOY when you enter into various trials and tribulations.

 Its  HARD to have joy when you’re having RELATIONSHIP issues or when SICKNESS comes to visit.

To take no thought for what you will eat, or drink, or wear but to let all our needs be met by HIM.

Hard to do when you got MONEY issues. If you’ve been laid off….or Gas Prices are sucking your dry.

All this is easier said than done especially when you have toxic issues of being a :

 Worry Wart!  

 A Drama Queen!

 A Stress Monster!

 A Dead Fish who acts as if nothing is wrong!

The balance of SEEING the TRUTH of what you are in & LIVING the TRUTH in TRUST of WHO GOD IS …is sometimes overwhelming.

But it is not impossible. For nothing is impossible with God. Right !!!???

Keep your eyes on God and your ear bent to His voice….

I am finding that in those moments when my attitude really sucks …. I can change – I can CHOOSE to magnify the GOD I love instead of living out those toxic behaviours and I am seeing that God surprises me when His JOY is able to rub out the toxic sludge in my mind…

 IF I focus on HIM instead of the thing that is got my pot of sludge boiling.

I am also finding that when I get irritated with others because I don’t like how they responded, how they behave, how it affects those around me or  how they…..______?? (fill it in)

 If I CHOOSE to see with fresh eyes….not with my ” raw, irritated feelings” and step into their shoes in that moment. I am finding a need for me to give some COMPASSION and ENCOURAGEMENT!! Have you ever grown by someone HATING on YOU!!?? I don’t think I have.

But a KIND word is seed sown…

COMPASSIONATE understanding goes a long way for creating patience in yourself toward others.

ANGER, IRRITATION, HURTS, SADNESS, GUILT, CONDEMNATION only breeds more of the same weeds…

Dr. Caroline says that THOUGHTS look like trees –the nerves cells in the brain build memory out of what we think about. We grow GOOD trees or BAD trees by how we think???

For out of the Heart ( your most inner thoughts)  the mouth speaks….

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil: for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Guard your heart ( your true thoughts) for out of it come the issues of life….

Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it springs the issues of life. 

POTENT stuff  our thoughts are!!! We would do well to think that over!! Because what we think on …comes OUT!  Our TOXIC POTENTIAL is High if we don’t use our God-given power to CHOOSE right!
