Give Thanks 2025 – We start tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the start of our annual GIVE THANKS – 30 day challenge!

This year the theme is Adore and Give Thanks! Over the last few years – we have done just writing down 3 things we are thankful for – we are adding adoration to the challenge. It wouldn’t be a challenge if we didn’t mix it up a little, right?

This morning, I turned on a YouTube instrumental worship video to help me focus in and I noticed a verse right at the beginning of the video.

 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you
great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Jeremiah 33:3

For the last several years, I don’t know if you have noticed but the world has been a bit of a dumpster fire. Several years ago, as I was traveling home from visiting family, I was praying and pondering when I saw this double stacked trailer full of dumpsters. As I passed by, I saw on the side of them the word: GRACE.

I exclaimed out loud, “GOD IS SENDING DUMPSTER LOADS OF GRACE”

Since then, the fight to see through spiritual eyes – that grace – has been rivaled by the amount of dumpster fire coming from every side on the world stage.

As I sat here this morning in silence waiting on the Lord, I turned to the passage above in Jeremiah. He had prophesied what was going to happen. He was jailed for it. And as he sat there, in jail, while the king of Babylon besieged Jerusalem, he hears the Lord.

Call to Me…

The Lord tells him this — while this dumpster fire of a onslaught is happening:

 “‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it;
I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.

Jeremiah 33:6

The Lord is always up to something while it seems that the world is burning around us.

Can we see it?

He goes on to say:

the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying,
“Give thanks to the Lord Almighty,
    for the Lord is good;
    his love endures forever.”
For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord.

Jeremiah 33:11

Can we turn in the midst of what feels like sorrow and disappointment, destruction and hate, what looks like lack and the world falling apart to give thanks?

These are the word the Lord gave Jeremiah while the city was burning down around him.

CALL TO ME…

I WILL HEAL…

GIVE THANKS…

And He declared this:

“‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord,
‘when I will fulfill the good promise I made…

Jeremiah 33:14

This was about THE PROMISE coming:

“‘In those days and at that time
    I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line;
    he will do what is just and right in the land.
16 In those days Judah will be saved
    and Jerusalem will live in safety.
This is the name by which it will be called:
    The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’

Jeremiah 33:15-16

It is the promise of Jesus – the Righteous Branch – He who will do what is just and right.

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS – in Hebrew YAHWAY TSIDQENU

Tsidqenu sounds like “sit-canoe”

Jesus the judge and advocate. Provided us justice. How did He save us from our enemies. It is God, in the person of Jesus Christ, who became the lifeboat for us! Thank you, God, for becoming our righteousness.

We adore you – are in awe of how you have made a way to bring such great promises!

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21

In Him alone.

I will be sharing mine on my FB page. And you will see them here on Hello Monday’s!

Thanks for listening,
