Psalm 128, The Fear of the Lord, blessing, family

on

Psalm 128:1-4 Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
    who walk in obedience to him.
You will eat the fruit of your labor;
    blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
    within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
    around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing
    for the man who fears the Lord.

When I look at this psalm I see a type of perfect order. I see that when a man has proper honor and respect for the Lord, and not just as the Lord but really for his Creator, his life lines up like many of the others psalms that speak of the fear of the Lord being the beginning of wisdom. The one who walks in that wisdom, walks in obedience to God. I see that in this kind of walk there is blessing for the work of your hands. There is growth and health in a fruitful marriage. There are blessings around your table that look like you and will learn to walk and talk like you.

It really is the beginning of wisdom to fear the Lord and walk with Him for if you desire your children to grow and mature in the Lord and follow in His ways. Its starts with you!

Anyone can become a generation changer!

Father, I bless your name. You are the Creator of the universe. You have made everything that is seen and everything that is unseen. You ways are beyond finding out. I stand in awe of the greatness that you are and I thank you for the intricate way you move and have your being in my life. Thank you for blessing the work of my hands and my husbands hands. Work in those hands today to bring about good and hope to those around us. Thank you for our children. Thank you for the way they walk in you. Would you guard their hearts and keep their feet from the evil way. Protect their minds from the perversity and depravity. Help them to hold tight to you and to trust you with their lives. Thank you God for the promises you have given.

Thanks for praying and listening,

Starla
