From where?

Today I have felt down and frustrated…

Ephesians 3:20 God is able to do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine. He does everything by his power that is working in us.

But God is good and able!

Ann Voskamp said the other day, ” …days like these, it’s no secret that our circumstances are always changing, the economy is fluctuating, the future is uncertain. But even in days like these–maybe especially in days like these–we can cultivate an environment where deep, healthy faith can grow: Moving from Proximity to Intimacy with Christ.

Proximity – in the same vicinity

Intimacy – in to me see

How long have we lived in proximity without seeing? How long?

When you are shut into your home that is when you find out how messy you really are.

Messy heart

Messy mind

A mess of a soul

busy distracting and trying to find relief. Its the human experience. We are all walking through different levels of it. Slowly being chipped away are the things for which we rely on for our comfort and security.

With each passing day we look down at our very own hands and watch the sand slip away.

Its all so humbling and crumbling…and grace given

So where do you look? Where does your help come from?

It is in the sanitizer or Clorox wipes?

Is it in your ability to watch and trace the hands around you and what they touch?

Is it in your ability to control what comes into your home?

To every control freak and neurotic minded person the answer may be yes…

and that too will break down….slip away…and through our hands like sand.

…sinking sand

Psalm 121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

The Lord is my help! Why so downcast Oh my soul? Put your hope in God!

If anything that this pandemic has done -it has revealed how deep or how shallow our faith is?

Its revealed mine and I am not condemned because of it. On the contrary, I am loved through it and called to come, come, come, to Him who is all I need.

Thanks for listening,

Starla
