Day 24 – He is a Remaker

Day 24 – He is a Remaker

In Romans chapter 2 we read about what true circumcision is, and while it is an uncomfortable word in itself, the heart of the matter is that this word delivers to us a beautiful truth.  Paul is making a point to the Jews that just because you are physically circumcised doesnt mean that you are a true God follower. Rather it is the one whose heart has been circumcised. The true followers of God have had a heart transplant! They don’t use the rules and the regs as a measuring stick to be seen and praised by others but instead, they live by the Spirit looking to the One who has made their hearts brand new. God is a Remaker of the heart.

For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical.  But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

Romans 2:28-29

People who have literal broken (uncircumcised) hearts are barely alive. They need a heart transplant to continue to live well. We could call them the living dead. They are lethargic and having no energy to live, they are lightheaded and cant think,  they are dizzy and they cant see straight, they have chest pain and are filled with pain and suffering. This is what we are like spiritually before we encounter Christ. Jesus came to free us from this slow agonizing death. He came to remake our hearts. In this halfway space of this series, I want to pause and remember the slow agonizing death of Jesus. Jesus wasn’t trying to make a name for Himself. He died to give life to all would believe. All over the world,  God through the Holy Spirit is calling names and revealing the Father’s love that was displayed by Jesus’s death for people. His death was given, so we can live! He is chasing hearts. It is what He does. His death was for freedom that is ours by faith. Our job now is to see what He is doing in the earth and when He crosses our path with one He is calling, we can partner together to show them the glory of the Son. It’s not my responsibility to save people. I cant make that choice for them. It is my job to point to Jesus. It is His job to remake hearts! Tweet that!

It is my job to point to Jesus. It is His job to remake hearts!

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you that it is not my responsibility to remake hearts. By your strength and power, I am able to display Your glory and point to Your sacrifice, a beautiful love offering You gave us to enter into Eternal life. Help me to point to You and not myself.

When was the last time that you pointed out Jesus to someone? Have you missed opportunities to share His love? Don’t beat yourself us we have all done that. The best way to engage people is to remember what He did for you. Take some time today to remember how much He forgave you!

Thanks for Listening,
