Day 15 – He is Eternal
This week two friends of our family have had parents pass away. My friend Krista lost her stepmom after a long sickness. She was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. They knew this day was coming. It just always seems to come too soon. My son’s friend Blake from school, his dad passed away suddenly. Just out of nowhere, bam, he’s gone.
Today I want to write about the brevity of life. It is so very short. The Bible literally says that our life is a vapor. It’s here and gone. I am not even going to try to answer the question of why these dear ones left this earth when they did. I do want to say that there is a place. There is a person who is life! There is no death. There is no sadness. There are no tears. Heaven is that place. Jesus is that person and He is eternal.
John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
We hold on to this life so tightly that when “life happens” we are knocked sideways and in for a tailspin. We have to opportunity in this life to meet One, who is eternal and who brought to us through Jesus Christ, eternal life. Holding on to Jesus has given me a peace that was not possible during trials, struggles, and moments of death before I met Him. – Tweet This!

I will not minimize the pain these people are feeling. Pain is real. It has its place. I just ask that in the pain that God will meet them and comfort them. That He would make Himself known to them even through this. Please pray for our friends today.
PRAYER: Jesus, comfort those who are experiencing loss through death today. Would you be the peace in the storm for them as you have been in the past for me? You promise good can come from all things. Lord, rub in the good of your love today!
Do you know someone who is hurting? Pray for them today.
Thanks for listening,
Starla
