Pastor said “Don’t put God in a box!”

Have you ever done that….thought that is not of God!

Later to find out that:

GOD IS SO MUCH BIGGER

THAN YOU THOUGHT!!

God has always used the unreasonable to show how big He is.

God used a bush on Fire to speak to Moses.

God had Moses split the Red Sea with a staff.

He spoke to Balaam through a Donkey.

Jesus said “ Roll the stone back!” Then He called to Lazarus

who had been dead for 4 days!

Reason says BUT HE STINKS and HE IS DEAD!!

But Jesus said : COME FORTH!

Then how about the time Jesus went to a young girls house

and everyone was crying and grieving.

Jesus said “OH, she is just sleeping!”  They all must have

thought He was nuts.  But He went in and took her hand and

said wake up and she did!

God doesn’t use the common…. well He can but it seems He

uses the unreasonable and the uncommon so that we know

that we know that — IT’S GOD!!

That is why He can use our weaknesses to bring Glory to Himself. That just seems ridiculous to us. We think how could God use my fear, anger, hurt, resentment, pain to bring Glory to Himself?? See things that I see in me as flaws..these are the things my insides what me to hide. It seems unreasonable in mind to show my negatives, to talk about my faults. Why? Because we live in a world where we prize “looking” perfect. These are the things that we don’t want to share and see. We would rather keep them to ourselves and pray alone and never reveal them.

I thought this was a cool quote…

and makes me think if you don’t share your pain you end up trapping it inside yourself and it festers and grows causing you to lag behind in your walk in Christ.

Ok..back to where I was.

The WORD says :

2 Corinthians 12:8-10 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

 

When I overcome these weaknesses through His power giving me strength to being real and honest in my struggles, not pretending I am perfect and some arrived person…then GLORY! :0)

It is uncommon for someone to just share their weaknesses…

When we KNOW we are NOT PERFECT in ourselves, by ourselves, but that THROUGH CHRIST we are MADE RIGHTEOUS!

We behave totally different than the world….

We shine forth GOD’s GLORY … and ONLY HIS WAY of doing things in this life can accomplish that!
