It may be a little much but I want to hit home the severity of it because I keep hearing about it, learning about it, the connections just keep coming to keep it fresh in mind. So here we go…
2 Timothy 3:3
[They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good.
Yesterday I posted Three Sisters. Today I want to tell you more about Sister Slander and her spirit.
Sister Slander is full of anger and pride. She believes her own understanding and ways so much that everyone else has got to be wrong. Her view just has to be right. She hasnt a humble bone in her body and when she refers to other people they are seen in a way that is never godly or one of love.
In the book Speaking from the Heart it says that: slander is defined as communication by words, gestures, or other signs that seriously damage a persons reputation exposing them to hatred, contempt or ridicule.
She spews hatred toward those she dislikes. Spreading the poison of ill-will toward others in peoples ears. Her contempt for others is shown by her disrespect for those not agreeing with her thoughts and likes and wants. She looks down her nose at them as if she is “oh so much better than they are.” She invites ridicule to the table, when she tells her stories to incite you to laugh at those she disagrees with marking them with the devils arrows. Trashing their names while smashing embarrassment into their faces like a mud pie. So happy she is when she sees others treat her victims the same way as she. For she feels justified, vindicated and righteous. Slanderous is her spirit…
But her heart is full of devil’s spew in need of repentance. No man or woman can make her core glow with godliness for her heart is dark and callous.
and so have we been at one time or another….
and are in danger of becoming little by little….each time we sip her stew or wear her coat and walk like her spirit’s puppeted ways.
Father, may we not allow the spirit of slander to overtake us. Let us be mindful of our brothers and sisters reputations. May we gaurd them like family members for we are all of one body. Thank you Lord that we have your Spirit’s strength to overcome and be loving gentle and compassionate people. Being full of mercy and peace. Standing for right based on your ways.
