Hello Monday #107

Where the heck have I been over here?

Well, I have been over on Substack checking out the vibe and how it works. I think I like it for my studies and devotional. That left me with what to do with this place and space.

I love my little blog home. I think I am going to make this place a bit more cozy for my life.

WHAT I AM WRITING ABOUT:

Today is Day 12 of the Summer in Psalms series. We started reading in Psalm 144. (You can jump in anytime and just start from there and read through with me) I so enjoy reading the psalms, highlighting, and even praying through them. Unintentionally, I started saving psalm songs to a YouTube playlist. If you would like to listen.

Or you can jump into TODAY’S PSALM:

Let’s do a little catch-up

In the spring, we took the dear daughter and her little to Maquoketa Park. It’s always fun getting the kids out and letting them adventure a bit.

My sister and I are in love with a good bakery. Valerie’s at the Newbo Market in town is one of our favs. She came for a visit and took home a haul lol.

My Momma and I took a trip to Michigan. It was tulip festival time.

Michigan has some of the most beautiful views

After this trip, when I got back

I went on a NO SUGAR 40-day challenge. Which means that all of these next moments I was fighting against the desire to eat the cupcakes and the sweets. I coupled this with a little running.

I have been walking 3 times a week pretty consistently. I heard a lady say that running during the time of 3 songs. Run the verses and walk the chorus, and it is more beneficial than an hr of walking. I can do this in 15 mins.

I made it not eating sugar (I’ve added it in just a bit since), and I have lost 15 lbs. So WHOOOHOOO!!

My daughter spoke at church:

Us with God: I got this

Dear Son graduated

My mother had a birthday

In June we went to a new bakery Café Déjà Vu — and it was sooo good.

In June I taught a series at church with a friend and my son-in-law.

Over at Substack, I wrote through the messages and added some supplements.

I started writing them with the Right Headspace: The Right Headspace – by Starla Smith – Starla’s Substack

And I started speaking with the Right Headspace: https://youtu.be/WcLHNfqbEgY?si=kAygoCBqHhWQwqMC

I was so proud of my friend who is our Youth Director, who spoke for the first time in “big church”

and for my son-in-law, who had a conversation with me about the 7 things we are to add to our faith

And finally, my hubby and I had our 29 years together “gotch day” anniversary.

Thanks for listening,

Starla

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.
