Wintering

I found my words for the year in January, but I decided that I wasnt starting any new years resolutions or change until after January and probably February was over. I am still wintering. I recently read an article, author unknown, who was talking about how he doesn’t understand why everybody tries to start their New Year’s resolutions in January. He says, “even the Earth, itself, created by our God, has put everything in hibernation in the Winter.” So I decided to decide what I will be doing. I will figure out what my steps will be but I am not starting until you see the 1st signs of Spring. He said, “You’ll get a much better outcome if you start then, if you cooperate with the natural rhythm that God-created.” So I’m still hanging out my pajamas most of the time. Lol haha 🤣 It just made way too much sense.

I have often pondered why people would keep running and even ramp up more to do’s and getter done’s when winter hit. The only thing I’ve ever wanted to do in winter was hybernate. Slowing down gives us a break. Rest is good for us. But this world keeps pressing us to do more. So, I refuse. No. Its time to rest. It’s time to reflect. It’s time to ponder where you have been and where you would like to go. It’s time to ask the Lord what He wants to do this year in you. Most people get to January and its change the diet, cut the sugar, cut the carbs, excersize routines, drink more water, read more, be more productive, be more efficient… more… more…more.

How about Stop! Just stop. And be. breathe, wait. rest.

There will be plenty of time for more.

Thanks for listening,

Starla
