Has your heart broke yet?
The world is destoying itself. People are destroying eachother.
I’ve watched a homeless man yell and scream “why?” at rioters because they burned his belongings and his bed. I’ve watched person after person be hit with fists and weapons. I’ve watched women wail and yell as they try to clean up after the mess, finding that to be a difficult task. I’ve watched children cry and scream because they were in the middle of it all when tear gas went off. I’ve read a horribly long list of people who died at the hands of violence in the last week. I’ve watched scene after scene of burned, broken into, and destoyed business. I’ve read a ridiculously long list of minority men and women business owners who lost it all, having their merchandise stolen, their stores vandalized, and or burned to the ground. I’ve watched man after man and women after women plead with their fellow human beings to stop. It was gut wrenching.
It’s like the human race just decided to bite and tear eachother apart all at once.
Why does this happen?
Where does all the hate come from?
Where does all the hardened callousness come from?
It comes from our broken messed up hearts! We are all trying to fill a hole in our soul.
We all wear a banner on our heart that says, “Do I matter?”
Well guess what? Jesus waves a banner over us that clearly says, “YOU ARE LOVED!”
Song of Solomon 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
God invites us to the table. The table represents equality. Where we all sit at the same level – eye to eye. No one is higher. No one is lower. This is love!

An entire race that has been misused and abused for centuries is crying out. Can you hear them? Do you care? I know what has happened isn’t ok. It isn’t an excuse. But we must not get caught in the net of the enemy. Pride will destroy us. Hardness looks like unaffectedness and callousness. It also looks like, “I dont careness!” There is a group of people right in front of us that are asking us if they matter! YES, THEY DO! So if you ask me “do black lives matter?’ YES, they matter.
Relationships and unity are more important than being right all the time.
Is it all wrong? YES! So lets make something right. Love one another!
Mark 12:31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Oh… is that it?
Mark 12:29 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Is that why? See, we all have a hole we are trying to fill! God loved you so that you are able, with the love that He fills you with, to love others. I need that! You need that! We all need that!
So now what?
I have also watched many argue and spend their days posting the “in your face” type of posts. I understand you disagree. I understand you are angry! But the anger of man does not bring about the righteousness of God.
James 1:19-21 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
We have to stop thinking that this is for everyone else. Its for you! Its for me! The anger I’ve seen it doesnt bring the change we are looking for. It only brings more of what it is. NOISE. HURT. PAIN.
1 Cor. 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
You can say it like others have. You can say it with the most eloquent words. You could have all the facts and be factually right but if you dont say it with love. No one’s listening!
Stop posting! Stop talking! And start listening.
Can you hear the cry of the Father for His children?
ALL OF HIS CHILDREN!
Crying out for us to come….come to the table. #wenotme
Thanks for listening,
Starla
