1 John 3:3

All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.

What a verse…

JESUS IS PURE  – amen!

and all those who hope in HIM purify themselves!

PURIFY: to make pure;free from anything that debases, pollutes, adulterates, or contaminates. To make free from guilt or evil

HOPE in Him …belief that He is our Savior washes us. It makes us free from guilt …he took all our guilty stains away.

He renews us …takes our sin as far as the east is from the west and our hearts are no longer evil.

BUT this part of the definition is different ….

I think this is up to us: free from anything that debases, pollutes, adulterates, or contaminates

Once He washes us and makes us clean it is our job to stay that way. Just like when your momma taught you how to wash behind your ears it is your job to continue to wash them.

Most every thing that happens in our lives starts in our mind …

so the Lord gave us this verse:

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
