Ever thought you learned a lesson and ended up in the same spot?

2 Peter 2:21-22 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

Now I know this is talking about “Teachers” but I was thinking ….aren’t we all teachers in some way, shape or form. Somebody is watching you….children, family, friends.…looking up to you….holding you up as an example. YOU a light in a dark world.

My Pastor said yesterday that some people only learn the hard way and he said that this is ok just so as long as you learn it. ( Thank you Lord!! I have learned the HARD WAY many many times)

How many times have I thought I learned something only to only to find myself in the same situation??

….sadly more times than I care to admit.

But if I really think about it …I RARELY repeat my mistakes if I have really LEARNED from them. This verse isn’t talking to someone who is stumbling through their lessons in God’s classroom….OH NO!…this is someone WHO KNOWS THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

They have passed some courses!

They KNOW what it is to live right…do right….love right!!

They have learned their lesson….

But they  “CHOOSE” to turn their backs on what they KNOW is right…

OUCH!

Let us be people who walk in righteousness…its ok if we are a mess while we are learning just so as long as we don’t return to our vomit or our pig pit after we get the lesson !!
