Hello Monday #77

A song for you:

Hard coming to terms

Disappointment is one of the hardest things to deal with. When you thought something was going to go a certain way and then it doesn’t. When you expected something to turn out and then it took a wrong turn. Life is just like that but sometimes that comes in pockets full of disappointment.

The Bible doesn’t use the word disappointment.

It says — hope deferred, not put to shame, discouraged.

But hope deferred is like still having to wait but its coming…

And not put to shame is like saying in the end it will all work out…

And a discouraged one can be lifted…

But disappointment is death to a dream, an expectation, or something you had in your hands and how it is gone.

We will encounter this in life.

Isaiah 49:23 (NIV)

“…those who hope in me will not be disappointed.”

While there is plenty that we will walk through in life that will carry this wet blanket of heavy hearted ache — God doesn’t ignore it — He says, “PUT YOUR HOPE IN ME! I DO NOT DISAPPOINT!”

A quote to ponder:

Sometimes we forget to be thankful for what we have, to honor the work and the process that it took to get here. Sometimes we are so forward seeing and thinking that we just want something else, something more, something different. But if we forget to find gratitude for where God has brought us from, we will miss the richness and gift He put in it for us.

Thanks for listening,
