Reaffirm love

DAY 16 – Walk in Love

Today’s Scripture:

2 John 1:4-6 I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father. 5 And now I plead with you, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. 6 This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

We are moving into the book of 2 John and John the Beloved never seems to tire of telling us to walk in truth and love one another. John is well into his years of life. If you go and read this epistle you will find him calling himself, the Elder. He is writing to an Elect Lady and her children. He lives to be the oldest of all the apostles, and the only one who died a natural death. Some of the older commentators think that the Elect lady was a woman who held position in a church of great influence and “her children” are those who were apart of this church community.

John rejoices because to be found walking in truth is also to be found abiding with the Father. John again says nothing new. The message is the same as in his last epistle of 1 John.

Walk in truth

Abide in love

Love one another

Real love will walk this way.

This was his life message as the Beloved!

Action:

How is your walk? Is there anyone that you need to connect with and reaffirm love? Is there anyone who is in need of forgiveness or that you must ask for forgiveness? Do not delay.

As we are doing this 21 day challenge, I have found myself struggling to love well in a few areas which is good to see because that is what this challenge is about! To see where we actually are and to let God amend us and move us to a new place through sanctification and abiding with Him, so that, we can love well. I do have someone in my thoughts that I need to connect with and reaffirm love and I will do it.
