The 3 BBB’s

DAY 6 – Identity Settlement

Today’s Scripture

1 John 3:1-3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Do you see those 3 BBB?

I love that this scripture starts out as BEHOLD – It means to fix the eyes upon; to see with attention; to observe with care, look, direct your mind to. It is saying to CAST EVERY OUNCE OF ATTENTION TO THIS – see what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us.

The second B is BESTOWED – Given gratuitously; conferred; laid out; applied; deposited for safe-keeping. See what He has given graciously and in lavish amount.

The third B is BELOVED – Loved; greatly loved; dear to the heart. This is who we are!

The beloved are the children of God! And what is it that He is revealing to us: That we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is.

This is a spiritual eye upgrade to see ourselves differently – to see as He sees. And this is our hope in Him that we will be pure as He is pure. This isn’t something we can do on our own. It is only something done in the context of this relationship.

That is amazing!

Today’s Action:

Set with that imagery of being a son of God, of being the heir to the Father, of being the one who inherits all that the Father has. What does that change about how you think about who you are?

I come from a space of father wounds that left me always struggling to see myself as loved, cared for, and constantly nervous around father figures. Always worried about disappointing them and being deemed as “not good enough.” Until one day a friend of mine invited me to a mini conference. It wasn’t the conference, but it was the divine appointment the Father of Heaven set up for me at the end of it. They offered prayer. I stood in line, encouraged by my friend. Not really knowing what the point was or why I needed it. But as I stepped up to this lady and her husband, she asked me my name and began to pray. She didn’t even ask what I needed. She asked the Father in Heaven. She began to pray about things she could not have known about me. By the end of it, it was very clear to me who my Father was, and He spoke to me, “You don’t have to keep looking for a father figure to love you, I am your Father.” From that day forward, I haven’t struggled like I was.

A few months ago, I became frustrated with what I was seeing in the mirror. I looked grumpy to myself. So, I started praying about it. One day as I was murmuring to myself while getting ready in the morning, I heard the Lord say, “Close your eyes.” So, I did and as I stood there for a few seconds he simply said, “Who are you?” and I said, “I am your daughter.” And He said, “My beloved daughter, now look at yourself like that!” When I opened my eyes, that is exactly what I saw.

We have a problem with our eyes and how they see based on the perspective we have.

Therefore, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Sometimes we just start to see with eyes of the world that can’t see or know His people and don’t know Him. We take on the attitudes toward people the world has instead of the attitude He has toward people. He is always saying come to Me, come away with Me.

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me,
and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

John 6:37

Come to Him today, Beloved and check that perspective today!
