DAY 3 – Return to the beginning
Today’s Scripture
John 2: 12-14 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake. 13 I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father. 14 I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
I see these highlights and I see – gift of freedom, relationship, power over evil, relationship, relationship, strength, where it comes from, power over evil.
3 times relationship — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We were given everything we need to overcome!
Grace, God, power to overcome, God, God, strength, The Word, power to overcome!
Peter answered Him (Jesus), “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. – John 6:68
Today’s Action:
Take some time to ponder the forgiveness you have been given. Wonder at the power given to you by and through Jesus to overcome the wicked one who tempts and seeks to destroy. Marvel that you know who the Father in Heaven is and that you have a relationship with Him. Be grateful that the word of God is available to you and abide with the word today.
I was recently reminiscing about the year before I received Christ. I was searching. I was wondering if God was real, and I started talking to Him and asking Him questions. As I was lying in bed one night, chatting with my husband, I recounted asking God for someone to love me forever and that would be good for me. Not only did He do that by giving me my hubby but also Himself. When I think back to what God forgave me for, I am so grateful. I was the worst…
…devilish…manipulative…sinful and he blessed me, saved me, forgave me.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8
I am so grateful that Jesus gave me the power to overcome, to grow, and become who I am today. I’ve walked through so many temptations and traps to destroy but God. What else is there?! But God, He made a way. Every time. And I struggle to find words to express how wonderful it is to know that I can run to the Father and be safe. I can come with all my baggage and all my bad attitudes, and He will lift the burden and turn my heart.
Where would we be without the Word of God?? — those words are life to my soul.
Thanks for listening,
