Hello Monday #29

Went on a little trip:

I went to see my momma and my sister for a couple days.

We tried out the solar over my sister-in-law Laurie and I got for my mom for her retirement/birthday gift. It got too cloudy, so we had to switch to the oven in the house. But it got 350 degrees in there when the sun was direct.

We went to the plant nursery – they sure have pretty things

My momma cooks up the best stuff and she has so much fun doing it. I think she could be do cooking with Momma Wendy videos. That would be fun. Shes a hoot.

Something I am chewing on:

I saw this post on X, and it made me think of something I learned a long long time ago, when I was a young Christian pouring over my Bible, reading it like a was dying for nourishment. Here’s the post:

This is probably the best answer I’ve ever heard to the question, “Why did God create evil?” READ THIS…

Why did God create evil? The answer struck me to the core of my soul! A professor at the university asked his students the following question: – Everything that exists was created by God? One student bravely answered: – Yes, created by God. – Did God create everything? – a professor asked. “Yes, sir,” replied the student. The professor asked : – If God created everything, then God created evil, since it exists. And according to the principle that our deeds define ourselves, then God is evil. The student became silent after hearing such an answer. The professor was very pleased with himself. He boasted to students for proving once again that faith in God is a myth. Another student raised his hand and said: – Can I ask you a question, professor? “Of course,” replied the professor. A student got up and asked: – Professor, is cold a thing? – What kind of question? Of course it exists. Have you ever been cold? Students laughed at the young man’s question. The young man answered: – Actually, sir, cold doesn’t exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is actually the absence of heat. A person or object can be studied on whether it has or transmits energy. Absolute zero (-460 degrees Fahrenheit) is a complete absence of heat. All matter becomes inert and unable to react at this temperature. Cold does not exist. We created this word to describe what we feel in the absence of heat. A student continued: – Professor, does darkness exist? — Of course it exists. – You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness also does not exist. Darkness is actually the absence of light. We can study the light but not the darkness. We can use Newton’s prism to spread white light across multiple colors and explore the different wavelengths of each color. You can’t measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into the world of darkness and and illuminate it. How can you tell how dark a certain space is? You measure how much light is presented. Isn’t it so? Darkness is a term man uses to describe what happens in the absence of light. In the end, the young man asked the professor: – Sir. does evil exist? This time it was uncertain, the professor answered: – Of course, as I said before. We see him every day. Cruelty, numerous crimes and violence throughout the world. These examples are nothing but a manifestation of evil. To this, the student answered: – Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist for itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is like darkness and cold—a man-made word to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not faith or love, which exist as light and warmth. Evil is the result of the absence of Divine love in the human heart. It’s the kind of cold that comes when there is no heat, or the kind of darkness that comes when there’s no light. The student’s name was Albert Einstein.

Now to what I read all those years ago: Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

I put this verse in my back pocket as something to believe because the Lord said it but not something that I understood until today.

In absence of light – darkness is created

In absence of peace – evil is created.

Wow…just ponder that.

The opposite of light is dark, but the opposite of peace is evil. If there is no peace, there is noise, conflict, war, distress. There is disorder and chaos and confusion.

For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

1 Corinthians 14:33

…Confusion and in the verse below

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

James 3:13-17

…where there is envy and self-seeking, confusion and every evil thing is there.

The Lord formed light, and darkness was created.

The Lord made peace, and evil was created.

The absence of light and peace is darkness and evil.

THANK YOU JESUS FOR BEING THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD AND THE PRINCE OF PEACE!

Something I heard that is sticky:

The reason I say it is sticky is because when I heard it, it stuck in my ear and my heart confirmed its truth. I was listening to someone close to me tell me what they wanted. They just wanted the person that they love to do the simple things like go for a walk with them, but they won’t, they don’t, they can’t hear the need.

But when it was said, it was sticky, and I knew that in the morning when my husband is sitting having breakfast that me being present and not going back to what I was doing or distracted by is going to be important. So, I will heed the warning. I will be present for those simple things like 15 mins while he eats before he goes to work.

Are we listening to the sticky notes?

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

Isaiah 30:21

Thanks for listening,

Starla

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.
