Hello Monday #8

Ponder post I wrote this past week: – to the bitter end

For weeks, I had been feeling a bit down, missing the sun, needing connection, and sorting out my heart. It’s amazing what happens when God speaks about where you are and points out places that need attention. Like… how did I not know I was here…

It is his grace to expose our darkness in the right time.

We all walk through junk every day and sometimes that junk gets stuck in our souls, and we need God’s help to remove it. Mostly because we don’t even know it is there, but we feel the effects.

To be honest, bitterness can look like protection. It’s not.

Song I heard:

STUDY GOODIE:

Peter asks Jesus about how many times are we supposed to forgive. He asks if 7 times is enough. And Jesus is like “Naw, how about 70 times 7.” After this Jesus tells a parable about a servant who asks for forgiveness for a large debt.

What caught my attention was this verse in 26

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, refrain thine anger toward me, and I will pay thee all.

Matthew 18:26 Geneva

This phrasing “Refrain thine anger” means to be slow to anger. It is to be gentle and one that refrains from storming in the mind. It’s being patient and merciful.

This forgiveness is granted but then when his fellow servant asks for forgiveness this servant does wickedly and has him thrown in prison.

31 And when his other fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came, and declared unto their lord all that was done.32 Then his lord called him unto him, and said to him, O evil servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou prayedst me.33 Oughtest not thou also to have had pity on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? 34 So his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due to him.35 So likewise shall mine heavenly Father do unto you, except ye forgive from your hearts, each one to his brother their trespasses.

Matthew 18:31-35 Geneva Bible

Conclusion-Forgiveness is a BIG DEAL! The evil servant is the one who much has been forgiven but is the one who refuses to forgive.

View through my window: God sends love if we are able to see it.

Something great: Birthday celebration for Dallas (my husband’s oldest son) He was reconnected with us last year during Easter and has been with us ever since. We love this wonderful young man. He is kind, helpful, cares for his people, and has a quiet and honest disposition.

Something lovely: Coffee and Lunch with Krista and her boo. Thank you for the lovely convo and time. I appreciate that she messaged me to come and hang out. I was just thinking about how I don’t have very many people who invite me. We have known each other for 27 years. Love you lady!

What I am still pondering:

Once the Lord gives you a crumb, keep at it like a hound dog until you find the bone or in this case the root. Thats what I am doing with this bitter root crumb…
