I had a dream and in the dream we ( the youth group) were throwing some kind of festival. People young and old had come from all over to join us. A storm came in and our team jumped into gear. We knew what the plan was for bad weather and we began working our emergency procedures. We were able to help and care for many through a very difficult time.
You have to have a plan to know what to do when life’s storms come. You need procedures to tell you how to work the plan. If a tornado comes and we hear sirens – do you know what to do?
The plan is to keep you safe. The procedures help you to remember what to do to stay safe.
The world has it’s own procedures for doing things – if someone does you wrong , do wrong back but that is not God’s procedure. His plan is that you show and unusual love and forgiveness so that others can see the plan – to see His great love and kindness.
When we live disconnected from the Word of God it creates a situation where we live in a state of emergency all the time. When something emotional happens and suddenly we are on the rollercoaster with no breaks and its rolling out of control. Our mind is going crazy trying to make sense of all the stuff going on in our lives. We feel incapable of dealing with it, out of control and miserable.
We don’t have to live like that! God has a plan – If we connect to Him and His Word ( our manual the bible) of procedures we can live well and know what to do when life goes a little haywire.
Ecclesiastes 8:5-7 Whoever does what the king commands will stay out of trouble, and the wise heart will figure out the proper time and proper way to proceed. Yes, there is a time and a way to deal with every situation, even when a person’s troubles are on the rise. For no one knows what is going to happen, so who can warn him before it does?
Proceed means a manner of any action, a way of conducting yourself
Pro – Forward Cede – to go
We want to know how to go forward …
We have lived long enough looking back on our mistakes.
This April we are going to read through the book of Proverbs – read one chapter a day!
Find the one thing that sticks our to you and share it on Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest – using this hashtag #goforwardhyc
The only way to ( THE PLAN) go forward is to work the procedures ( His Word in your heart)
Share with us as we go, we look forward to connecting with you!
