Day 17 – He is a Father

I use to hate being alone. Every time I would be without people around me I felt this inner void. I was terrified of it. I filled my time with visiting, phone calls, messaging on Facebook with my one friend just to not feel the empty cavern of my own soul. I had an orphan heart but I didn’t even know at the time what that was. I kept a Ferris wheel of activity around me at all times. I barely grew in my faith over the course of 10 years because I was full of fear that people I admired in the church would think less of me if they really got to know me. I was insecure, fearful, and tremendously lonely. So I kept to my own small group of friendships and would run from those relationships that could grow me.

The Father of Heaven has a way of getting you into the right places at the right time with the right people to address the right particular things for our greatest launch into growth. Don’t run from the uncomfortable, wrestle with the doubt that lives within you. Tweet That!

We tend to get very upset when these people bring up something that needs work. Instead of looking at the character issues that arise, the behavioral issue, the heart issues, we blame, get angry, accuse others of judging, and we stunt our own growth. We further fall into doubt and loneliness.

Psalm 68:5-6 Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

God, He is a Father! Our heavenly Father will love and correct His children. Lean into those doubts that you have. Ask Him for the answers to your questions. Let Him put you into relationships that will grow you. Allow those relationships to fertilize, tend and water your heart and spirit. Then make yourself get alone with God and watch Him give the increase.

PRAYER: Thank you, God, that You do not leave us a fatherless and orphans. You take great care in the growth of Your kids. Help us not to run from Your correction. Connect us with the right people for our good!

Do you get uncomfortable when people bring up a thing they see in you? Don’t be afraid. Use everything as fertilizer to grow into who God has created you to be.

Thanks for Listening,

Starla
