Hebrews 1:1-4 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, ² has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; ³ who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, ⁴ having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

I was sitting on my porch

sunshine on my face

opening the bible for tasty drink

……when He had by Himself purged our sins…

Purged : to rid of whatever is impure, to free, to clear of guilt

He did that for you ….for me

Did you know that there was no chair for the priest to sit in the Old Testament temple?

no place to relax

a symbol of never ending work to be done

the constant need to shed blood and cover sins

like my striving and effort to clear my conscience and cover my shame

Time for a revelation

When Jesus came and by Himself purged our sins….my sin

He SAT DOWN –HE SAT DOWN!!!

No more work to be done

it is finished!!!

I either trust that or I strive in effort

He did more than cover my sin like the old way did

He cleansed and purified

He took away my sin

Gave me His righteousness, gave me a NEW SPIRIT

can I believe??

…. my mind swirl thinking : but my thoughts, my attitudes, my feelings…I still need FIXING!

perhaps I simply need eyes to see and ears to hear

I need Awareness

It is my fundamental understanding of who I am, this is where I live from

If I believe I’m broken I will leave bits of my broken hurting self everywhere I go

for others to cut their feet and hands on when they get close to me

But if I believe that I am made NEW, I am cleansed, I am pure, I am Christ’s,

I am a righteous saint of God

I will walk about in the knowing of Who God is in ME and I can share His LIFE!!

I can pour from the living fountain within

I can give a drink to another

I want to do that!

I believe! I will put my trust in HIM. In the Finished work that Christ has already accomplished for me and for you.

will I mess up …sure but I got the Holy Spirit compass do I not?

I trust He will get me where I need to go

I have brokenness and hurt don’t get me wrong but I am choosing to live from the healing!

I was hurt. I was broken but now by His grace I am healed!!

By faith I believe the reality of this healing in me.

As my Bff put it to me : Hurting people hurt people and healed people help heal people!

Your blood speaks a better word
Than all the empty claims I’ve heard upon this earth
Speaks righteousness for me
And stands in my defense
Jesus it’s Your blood

Your cross testifies in grace
Tells of the Father’s heart to make a way for us
Now boldly we approach
Not by earthly confidence
It’s only Your blood

What can wash away our sins?
What can make us whole again?
Nothing but the blood
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can wash us pure as snow?
Welcomed as the friends of God
Nothing but Your blood
Nothing but Your blood King Jesus
