When it is time for nap my son says to me almost every time
I remember as a kid I liked to be carried into the house from the car. I would pretend to be asleep just so I could be carried.
One day when he said “CARRY ME!” I picked him up and he rested his head on my shoulder, patted my back in thanks, took a deep relaxing breath and said
“ I like when you take care of me!”
When we learn how to ask God to carry us…He takes care of us.
Then He teaches us …
Carry each other’s heavy loads. If you do, you will give the law of Christ its full meaning.
Each of you should carry your own load.
So these verses are how we know that if we cast our cares on the Lord and let Him take care of us that we will be taken care of…
First He will send those who are willing to help carry each another’s load….some things are just too heavy for us. Through sharing, meal preparing, washing, cleaning, standing alongside, and prayer – we can help each other.
But SECONDLY we can not lay down and not carry our own load….doing that leaves everyone else to do all the lifting and it becomes a burden. We will go through something’s in this life that we will want to sit down and count ourselves out…but when we dig in, seek the Lord and His ways…He gives us strength.
When we do it God’s way …
The Lives of His people become His Hands in the world and we are all taken care of.
Sounds like the LOST ART of Hospitality and Being Neighborly. Lets bring that back…and LIVE CHRIST!
