Do I tremble??

Psa 99:1 The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth [between] the cherubims; let the earth be moved.

Listening to Did you hear the mountains tremble

Yesterday I was reading a friends blog called A Dwelling Place for the Almighty.

She shared this quote from Francis Frangipane’s book called Holiness, Truth and the Presence of God.

“In the Kingdom, there are no great men of God, just humble men whom God has chosen to use greatly. How do we know when we are humble? When God speaks, we tremble. God is looking for a man who trembles at His Word. Such a man will find the Spirit of God resting upon him; he will become a dwelling place for the Almighty.”

The words that stood out to me were : WHEN GOD SPEAKS, WE TREMBLE.

I have heard that word tremble many times in my 11 years of walking with the Lord. I never really paid it any attention. Tremble is tremble right??? I thought tremble was to shiver, like when you are cold or it could be tremble as in to be afraid, like when you are nervous you begin to shake. While all these make perfect sense. None of these made sense to me when thinking about  – The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble….WHY?? Why tremble….

When I think of MY LORD REIGNS I don’t feel tremble, I feel happy and I want to praise and sing….not shake, vibrate…be afraid. So thanks to my friends blog I went deeper.

I found that TREMBLE is not a feeling…..and while it may mean those other things and more in this verse I found it to mean:  to be moved, or to disturb….    selah

BECAUSE THE LORD REIGNS ….HE WANTS TO MOVE US….HE WANTS US TO MOVE…HE WANTS US TO BE DISTURBED OUT OF OUR SLEEPY, SELFISH, CARNAL WAYS……wow wow wow!!!!

It is because HE REIGNS that we have work to do.

It is because HE REIGNS that we can MOVE into the things He has for us.

It is because HE REIGNS that we no longer can sit idly by and slumber our days away, we must be DISTURBED.

MOVED AND DISTURBED to do what God has called us to do.

GET UP!!! WAKE UP!!! GO GO GO!!! LET’s GO!!! We have work to do….we have destiny’s to fulfill…

Those dreams that you pray to God about…those things you want to do in life. Stop sitting by waiting for some “POOF here it is” to make it happen. Do the work…MOVE!!!

Take steps toward those goals and dreams…walk…fall…get up…praise and keep MOVING.

I agree with Favor, this is deep. I always thought that To Tremble was a Feeling. For example when my parents call me into their room, I tremble for fear of what may come out of the conversation. But as I type this, it doesn’t seem as if Tremble is the feeling at all. But a side effect from the fear. So our desire to please God and etc, should cause us to Tremble. Or Move or be Disturbed enough to move. The Movement or Trembling is a result of our hearts toward God Almighty. Or so I see it.

  6. You just go so deep!! I love it! It reminds me that faith without works is dead. Sometimes we expect God to be a genie! Ask and receive without doing anything.

I’m still stuck on: “HE WANTS US TO BE DISTURBED OUT OF OUR SLEEPY, SELFISH, CARNAL WAYS.” When I make a choice not to follow God’s instruction immediately (aka operate in disobedience), I am 100% being selfish. Especially with my acting dream/goal. I know that I have been on pause for a good 6 months, only now am I MOVING again. And I keep asking: what am I supposed to be doing? God keeps on saying: I already told you what to do.
